What is The Mushroom Project?

  We are a group of visual arts students from Thompson Rivers University. The goal of our project is to bring our community together in the same way that the fungal network is connected.

 Partnering with the Kamloops Food Policy Council, we are compiling paper mushrooms coloured, doodled, drawn, and decorated in a way that represents each person who creates one. The KFPC has a Theory of Change that states;

Acting like a mycelium - a network of microscopic strands connecting mushrooms and the surrounding ecosystem - we work collaboratively to connect and strengthen our regional food system.”

In order to demonstrate this analogy we are collecting these unique mushrooms from around our community to bring them together in The Stir, a community kitchen run by the KFPC.
